You Have the Power to Transform Lives

Our Mission

Our mission is to support individuals, family members, and caregivers facing the challenges of dementia. By providing resources and building a supportive community, we aim to alleviate the fear and stress of this transition while preserving the independence and dignity of those living with dementia.

We help both individuals and their care partners stay organized through unique cognitive wellness toolkits that include customizable forms.

These toolkits enable users to establish manageable routines that:

  • Keep them anchored in the present,
  • Increase their control over daily activities, and
  • Create a written record of their lives to enhance communication with healthcare providers and reduce medical errors.

Our approach empowers individuals living with dementia to take charge of their day, fostering positivity and comfort for both them and their caregivers.

Our vision is a future where every individual living with dementia experiences a life of dignity, structure, and self-empowerment. We see a world where customized cognitive wellness toolkits become a cornerstone in daily routines, granting individuals the ability to stay rooted in the present and navigate their days with confidence. In this future, personal control and clear communication with healthcare providers are not luxuries but standard practice, minimizing medical oversights and enhancing the quality of care.

Our Inspiration

I started Dignify Dementia to honor my dad, who was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinsonism in 2018. He wanted to help others living with dementia and support families like ours caring for loved ones at home. Motivated by his diagnosis, his desire to assist others, and my professional background in public health, I was inspired to establish this organization in September 2022. My mom and I cared for him at home until he passed away in 2024. It was his wish to remain at home for as long as it was safe, and we believed that together we could fulfill that wish. However, neither of us truly understood the extent of the personal sacrifice, as well as the physical and emotional toll this would take on all of us. It required a great deal of patience, responsibility, and dedication—qualities that can be challenging to maintain as a caregiver.

I am sharing our personal journey for two reasons:

1. To raise awareness about dementia and the challenges of caring for loved ones with this condition.

2. To provide resources and support for those who are struggling with dementia, other neurodegenerative conditions, or who are caregivers facing this work in shame and silence.

You are not alone.

Colorado Gives Day 2025

Colorado Gives Day is the largest 24-hour giving event in Colorado, taking place on Tuesday, December 9. Everyone, regardless of where they live, has the power to make a difference.

Your support is crucial in uplifting those living with dementia and their caregivers nationwide. With your donation, we can provide free Cognitive Wellness Toolkits and personalized resource packages, while also contributing to the University of Colorado Health Center for Neurology Supportive and Palliative Care Fund. This vital funding will help create a transformative six-part speaker series to raise dementia awareness and educate care partners and medical providers.

Furthermore, your generosity will enhance our online Caregiver Empower Hour and our Mutual Aid Group, as well as expand outreach to local high school students for meaningful volunteer opportunities with Dignify Dementia. Together, we can inspire hope and foster a supportive community
